At Home Service

Love to read but can’t get to the library? Blackpool Libraries have what you need!

Blackpool Library service is offering facilities that are tailored to your individual needs. If through age, infirmity or disability you can no longer reach the library, Blackpool Libraries are providing a way for our services to reach you, at home!

This service is focused on keeping Blackpool residents using the library services regardless of their personal situation. Library staff will choose books and talking books based on your preferences and a friendly volunteer will deliver them to your door once every three weeks.

If you would like to take full advantage of this FREE service or know of someone that would, you can contact:

Carole Ashworth on 01253 476390 or email her at carole.ashworth@blackpool.gov.uk
Or, you can tweet us @bpoollibraries

  1. Hi James!
Each volunteer would need to have their own transport and we pay a mileage allowance of 40p per mile! It’s a great service that ultimately relies on volunteers, but is extremely rewarding- we’re recruiting at the moment.
If you are interested, please contact carole.ashworth@blackpool.gov.uk for further details.
Many thanks, James, and have a great day!
