Layton Library celebrates its DIAMOND

On the 28th September 2012, Blackpool’s Layton Library will be celebrating 75 years of service. In order to commemorate this, Layton Library will be holding a special day of celebrations for residents, library users and local schools to enjoy.
In the afternoon, local historian Tony Sharkey will be providing a special talk, not only on the history of the library, but on the history of the Layton area. It is set to be a fascinating account of how Layton has thrived through the years and has become a well known and important area of Blackpool.
The day is set to be one for both adults and children, as the late afternoon brings the Creepy Crawley Roadshow with spiders, snakes and all sorts of insects in tow. The Creepy Crawley Roadshow is one that has proved popular with youngsters across the Blackpool Library Service, as they visited a number of Blackpool libraries earlier this year.

The hour long local history talk will take place at 2pm
The Creepy Crawley event will take place at 3.45pm
