Wordpool 2013, Blackpool’s 7th annual festival of words brings you three days of events, performances and workshops.

We’ll be keeping you updated on all of Wordpool Festival’s events, here’s what’s happening on Thursday 4th July

Opening Ceremony & Photocall with Deputy Mayor & Mayoress
10.30-11.30am – Tower Headland
In a sport known for uncompromising aggression, join Blackpool’s one and only Roller Derby League as they glide across the Tower Headland. The Revoe Community Choir provides the perfect soundtrack to our Opening Ceremony.
No need to book- just turn up!

Cream Tea with Freda Lightfoot – Anchorsholme Library
1.30-3.00pm
Share a cream tea with the doyen of the family story genre, Freda Lightfoot, as she chronicles her life as a bestselling author.

Matt Hilton – Layton Library

Elly Griffiths – Moor Park Library

Dig up the bones with Elly Griffiths, whose novels feature the loveable forensic archaeologist, Ruth Galloway. Griffiths’ books also feature Blackpool landmarks, such as the Pleasure Beach and Central Library!

Film screening- Little Shop of Horrors
7.30pm- Winter Gardens
The classic film, Little Shop of Horrors, is the perfect combination of hilarity and music. A singing plant and a demented dentist bring this wild and witty comedy to life.
