Fylde Coast Shakespeare Festival 2014

 To commemorate the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare’s birth, creative forces across the Fylde are joining together to celebrate in the first ever Fylde Coast Shakespeare Festival. Taking place over 4 days and across venues throughout the Fylde Coast, the works of Shakespeare will be adapted and performed in unique events tailored for a variety of different audiences…

Blackpool Central Library are honoured to be hosting two fantastic events:

The Taming of the Shrew
Our Lady of the Assumption RC Primary School are making a short film and display of work as part of their Shakespeare school project. The film and display will be on show at Central Library on 23rd, 24th & 25th April and Year 3 will be performing a scene from The Taming of the Shrew.
Thursday 24 April 2014 – 10am

Salute to Shakespeare
Live Poets and Poetry People were established in 2003 and meet on the first Monday of every month at 1pm in Central Library. They will be performing A Salute to Shakespeare; smithereens of Shakespeare songs, sonnets, stellar sketches, stylish soliloquies, scurrilous sayings and a stream of splendid ‘slipslops!’
Friday 25 April 2014 – 1.30-4.30pm
