Congratulations to our Junior Stamp Collector, Callum Wood!!

Blackpool Library member Callum Wood, age 12, of Montgomery High School has recently been awarded the prestigious Anne Dummer Trophy for the Young Collector of the Year. Callum was chosen for his work in getting a stamp club started in his own school. Callum is fairly new to stamp collecting and regularly attends the Junior Stamp Club at Central Library where he learned many skills to help him win this national prize.

CM: How long have you been attending the Junior Stamp Club?
CW: For about a year now.

CM: Why and what do you enjoy about stamp collecting?
CW: Stamps are really interesting and I love learning about them. Whatever it is you are into, there is a stamp about everything!

CM: Do you have any favourites:
CW: I love collecting British stamps, particularly Machin stamps (the ones of the Queens head) because there are loads of really vibrant colours.

Congratulations to Callum on this huge achievement and best of luck with his philatelic future!

Junior Stamp Club meets on alternate Saturdays, the next session is Saturday 17 May, 2pm at Central Library. Please ring Pam for more details on 01253 478080. Members must be aged 8 or over.
