Wordpool Poetry Competition

Want to see your poetry become a part of Blackpool Illuminations 2014?


At this year’s Wordpool festival, Polly Atkin– a inspiring poet from Cumbria- launched Blackpool’s first major poetry competition. Welcoming entries from the across the globe, Polly has her work cut out for her, promising to read and judge every single entry. The prize winners will then be invited to attend a special event where the winning poem will be ‘switched on’ in lights at our world famous Illuminations.

1st place – £100 plus your poem in lights
2nd place – £75
3rd place – £50

All entries must be on the subject of ‘light’ and an original work of the poem. Further terms and conditions can be found in the competition rules
Entry free is £3 for one or £7.50 for three.
Closing date: Monday 4 August 2014

Entries can be handed in at any Blackpool Library or submitted via email artsdevelopment@blackpool.gov.uk
All entries submitted electronically must be paid for via Eventbrite.
