The New Arts for Health Programme

Arts for Health is for anyone ages 16 and over who lives in Blackpool and wants to do something creative in a group. You might be feeling isolated, stressed, in need of support, not feeling very confident about yourself or maybe you just want to be a part of a group. Whatever your reason, you’re welcome to join Arts for Health.

The Arts for Health courses are facilitated by professional artists, so you get a real creative experience. The artists will work with you sharing their own practice to enable you to explore your own creativity. You can do two creative courses, so a potential 12 weeks of creativity in total- here’s a list of everything you can get involved in…

Creativity and Walking Group
Perfect for anyone who enjoys creativity, going on walks and visiting places of interest.
There will be six consecutive weeks of creativity run by Arts for Health, followed by 4 weeks of guided walks by the Wellness Service.
Creative sessions will include; mosaic, creative writing and silk printing
Mondays 10.30-12.30pm at Central Library
Duration: 10 weeks 

Mind & Creativity
Fancy doing something to stimulate you mind and be creative? Mind & Creativity involves learning a new skill like yoga, meditation or basic British sign language.
Run in partnership with the Wellness Service.
Tuesdays 3-5pm at Central Library
Duration: 10 weeks

Archive Group
Explore the archives in an informal and friendly atmosphere and discover vibrant histories.
Run in partnership with Blackpool libraries
First Wednesday of the month at Central Library

Back on Track
Explore your creativity with a professional artist who will share with you their practice and skill. You will be guided through a project and leave with a finished piece.
Wednesdays 10.00-12.00pm  at Central Library
OR Wednesdays 1pm-3pm at Central Library
Duration: 6 weeks

Creative Pathways
Learn how to draw and paint with us! An experienced tutor will guide you through step by step. As well as having the opportunity to get creative, you will also have the opportunity to reflect on your goals throughout the course.
Wednesdays 1-3pm at Central Library
Duration: 6 weeks

New Horizons
We’re offering support for confidence building, looking after mental and physical health, employment support, volunteering and education opportunities. The life skills tutor will support you to achieve you goals!
Wednesdays 1-3pm at Central Library
Duration: 6 weeks

Smart Arts Blackpool
Enjoyed Arts of Health courses and want something more permanent?
Join this friendly bunch as they set up different creative activities for you to enjoy, as a part of a supportive arts group.
Tuesdays 1-3pm at Central Library
