MEET THE AUTHOR

Queen’s Gambit by Elizabeth Fremantle

Elizabeth Fremnatle

A great visit to the Central Library in 2013 from this (at the time) debut author.
The novel brings to life the least known of Henry VIII’s wives, Katherine Parr.  There is a great portrayal of the bloated Henry, but I really loved the moving story of Katherine’s maid Dot (a character of the author’s creation).
A very accomplished debut novel.

Similar to: Phillipa Gregory, Alison Weir and Hilary Mantel
