Wool ‘n’ Words is a Knitting Group which meets at Palatine Library and two weeks ago we took a group outing to join a group of enthusiastic crafters on a trip to Hobbycraft at EventCity, Manchester. Event City is a fairly large venue next to the Trafford Centre and on this day it was filled to capacity with craft stalls of every kind!
Although there were exciting knitting and crochet stalls with wonderful ideas and inspiration we were also intrigued by workshops and demonstrations in parchment craft, felting, machine sewing and other needle crafts. We were also very impressed by the Woman’s Weekly readers display of owls, badgers, foxes, toadstools and leaves in support of the charity The Woodland Trust – most inspiring!
Woman’s Weekly sponsored the event and put together a goody bag that included 2 of their magazines and some freebies that will come in handy for our future projects. All in all it was a great day and we left with some fantastic ideas and wonderful items for our next challenge!
If you would like to join us on our next project, Wool ‘n’ Words meets every Tuesday 2-4pm, bring your needles and before you can say S1, K1, PSSO, you’ll be among friends!!
