We’ve been locked in a room with our Twitter Book Club, a spanner, glue and some pipe-cleaners, and we think we’ve managed to create a better, shinier #Bookpool.
We love talking books with all you Blackpool & Beyond book lovers, so we thought we’d like to do it more often. Starting from January 2016 we are going bi-monthly. We’ve also added a little theme for each month to help promote discussion.
January’s theme is (appropriately enough) New Beginnings.
Every Day by David Levithan
Every day, ‘A’ wakes up in a different body and has to adapt to different situations and experiences accordingly. This is fine… until one day ‘A’ discovers a reason to stay.
Every Day raises many questions about gender, identity, and belonging. We can’t wait to see what you lot think. This book fits perfectly with the new beginnings theme and is a little gem which will brighten up a dismal January.
This month is also LGBT History Month. Every Day has been included on their selected reading list. It fits in beautifully with this year’s theme – Religion, Philosophy and Belief. So, as you can see we will have loads to talk about.
We hope you enjoy dipping your toe into Young Adult fiction.
