We were lucky enough to be offered tickets to see Of Mice & Men at Blackpool Grand Theatre last night. It’s a book that we’ve recommended time and time again to our customers and couldn’t wait to see it on stage. Here’s what library assistant, Ruth, thought of the play…

Wow, what a wonderful performance at the Grand Theatre Blackpool by the Touring Consortium Theatre Company of this classic play. Set during the Great Depression in America, the stage design and music transported you on to the ranch.  The play covered many subjects from friendship, racism, the role of women which were all conveyed by a superb cast, including Guinness the dog. As the gripping tale unfolds of the lives of two ranchers searching for their dream you can feel the build-up of tension in the theatre- culminating in a devastating climax.

“I got you to look after me, and you got me to look after you, and that’s why.”

Showing Tuesday 22 March until Saturday 26 March 2016
