It’s been a very exciting week across Blackpool Libraries, in between all of our great summer events aimed at your little ones, we’ve also launched our range of ‘Shelf Help’ books aimed at your bit bigger ones. Our ‘Shelf Help‘ titles seek to help 13-18 year-olds cope with the pressures of life, feel better about themselves and boost their confidence using books.
Here’s some of our top picks;
As part of The Reading Agency‘s Reading Well range of books chosen by health experts to help people with physical and emotional medical problems. The books have information and advice as well as personal stories about dealing with feelings such as anxiety, depression or stress. There are also a few novels thrown in for good measure, but which link with these themed topics.
This new range books was officially launched at the Blackpool Carer’s Centre Open Day, which was a chance for families to come and see the newly renovated centre on Newton Drive- transformed by the BBC DIYSOS team and a whole load of volunteers! We made sure to donate some books from the ‘Read On Get On‘ campaign, as we felt the centre wasn’t complete without their own mini library!

The books are available at Moor Park, Palatine and Central Library
